J.P. Macura has narrowed his list of schools to Minnesota, Creighton, Xavier, Purdue and Iowa State.

Macura will take an official visit to Xavier on Sept. 6 and likely Iowa State on Sept. 15.

The 6-foot-5 Macura eliminated Butler from consideration when Brad Stevens took the Boston Celtics job.

“I had a good relationship with the new head coach and most of the players when I went on a visit,” Macura told Gopherhole.com. “It is hard to say no to them, but I think it was a good choice because Brad (Stevens) is not there and that is a huge, huge thing for him to be there.”

Kevin Zabo has committed to San Diego State.

Zabo is a three-star recruit out of Canada and played for the AAU team CIA Bounce.

Zabo also had offers from West Virginia, Iowa State, Illinois and George Washington.
